What To Do If Your Pet Gets Sprayed By a Skunk
writes, "(shared by Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter)

When your pet gets sprayed by a skunk (ewe) it instantly becomes chaotic!
To clean your pet, this is what you will need.
1qt. 2% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup Baking Soda (not powder)
1 tsp. Dawn dish soap
do NOT rinse/wet down your pet first. The musk has oil in it and the water just spreads it around instead. That's why that formula works because it breaks down the oil first. 🤢 REPEAT...DO NOT WET DOWN YOUR ANIMAL FIRST.
Once your mixture is complete apply it to your pet. I find it easiest to put the mixture into a large nozzle spray bottle and soak the pet with it. By large I mean, the industrial kinda ones you get at Home Depot, not a small nozzle Windex type.
Srub a dub dub and then allow it to stay on your pet for a bit before rinsing. Depending on the severity you may need to bathe more than once.
P.S. Tomato juice does not work.
