Today starts our "Direct from The Downtown" campaign. These posts are meant to shed light on how the current health crisis is affecting our downtown businesses. Each photo will include a short quote from the owner. Today we spoke with Danielle Mackie Freeman from Mackie's Family Restaurant.

"Unfortunately we have had to lay off our staff. We have had employees wanting to work for free. The grand kids, at ages 4 and 6, will be greeting you as you pick up your take-out food. Having to survive on take out alone has decreased our business by 85%. As a family we are staying strong and are giving this our all. We are using the best products available, the best service and cooking everything like it’s our last! After being in business for over 25 years We truly miss our costumers the most. Your family gets really big because those costumers turn into family. We look forward to normalcy again and having them here with us."

"Unfortunately we have had to let go our staff and close one location. I'm working 14 hours by myself to help my business tay in action and survive. Habibi's will keep serving you as always for pick up and delivery. We are following all the safety and sanitation regulations to keep you safe as us. I can't wait to see all of you again, in my place, enjoying the food, service and atmosphere. Thank you North Attleboro neighborhoods and loyal customers for your continued support during this crisis situation.”
